Artist/Printmaker

ii. Drawings

The exhibition included two of Yolanda del Riego’s drawings: one inspired by the mountains of Alaska, the other on a small isle in the Arousa estuary.

Yolanda del Riego's drawings are, in many cases, complementary or counterpoint to her etchings, showing the most lyrical and contained facet of the artist's work. In the early drawings [...], the thick texture and roughness of the paper made by the artist play a fundamental role in the result of the work, contrasting with the delicacy of the strokes of the colored pencils.
