DIGITAL PRINTS

Sherwood Forest “Five Moments” (2013) being digitally printed

My digital files are like my [etching] plates. I approach my digital works as a printmaker, looking for the same kinds of textures and reliefs —even if they are only an optical illusion.
— YR

Yolanda del Riego’s digital works are all original artworks that she creates herself directly on a computer, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. She sometimes starts from a snapshot or a scan of one of her drawings. As she disassembles the images, she adds her own textures and layers, and draws using an optical pen.

YR’s digital files are printed on a variety of supports (paper, aluminum, glass) using different digital printing technologies (pigment inkjet printing, direct-to-substrate UV printing, dye sublimation).
